Project Background
Enchange conducted a walk through assessment during the first stage of the project that revealed a dysfunctional supply chain, sub-optimal IT system utilisation and poor cross-functional supply chain knowledge. Stock outs for some SKUs and over-stocking on others were causing lost sales and a significant drain on financial resources.
Working with an internal team, Enchange designed and implemented an S&OP process that included all in-bound and out-bound supply chain processes from sales forecasting, through planning and purchasing to distribution and customer management.
The project integrated the supply chain and provided the process foundation for implementation of an ERP system. A key part of the programme was S&OP management training and development with the goal of delivering devolved operational decision making to the correct level in the organisation.
Results
- For this $100m organisation , results at the end of year 1 were bottom line savings in excess of $3.6m, reductions in working capital of £1m, zero stock outs and a doubling on the companies share price.
- Vastly improved operational management competency.
- Formed basis for a new sustainable performance-based supply chain culture.
